Good News: Canada has launched Faster Immigration Programs

Canada has been gaining a lot of popularity in the global forum for the past one and a half years, whether having issues with the Indian government, increasing living costs for international students, scrapping the student direct stream visa category, the resignation of prime minister Justin Trudeau, etc., but this time the action is a little bit positive; finally, Canada is back on track with their immigration projection. Ottawa had already chalked out the Immigration Plan 2025-2027 last year in October regarding immigrants needed, and as per the plan, Canada needs 395,000 immigrants by 2025, 380,000 by 2026, and 365,000 by 2027. This plan is designed to mitigate the pressures on housing, healthcare, and infrastructure while promoting economic growth.

Now, just to be in the right direction, Canada has launched two rural immigration programs on 30th Jan 2025. With these pilot programs, foreign nationals would have the opportunity to gain permanent residency in a short span of time. Under these programs, 18 communities have been selected, which would provide permanent pathways to attract and retain newcomers who can fill the requisition and live long-term in these locations.

Canada has launched two rural immigration programs to expedite the permanent residency for International students as well as Immigrants.

1. Rural Community Immigration Pilot

2. The Francophone Community Immigration Pilot

The Rural Immigration Community Immigration Pilot program is launched to make sure that the rural areas would have access to the program that solves workforce problems and assists local businesses in locating the personnel they require, while the francophone community immigration pilot emphasises expanding the population of new immigrants who speak French in Francophone minority areas outside of Quebec. This would help to repair and expand the demographic weight of francophone minority groups while also ensuring their economic development.

The candidate can apply from overseas as well under this program. The candidate can apply for permanent residency under these pilots if they are skilled workers and have an offer letter from a designated employer. Work experience is not required if the candidate has recently graduated from the given community’s public postsecondary institutions. The candidate applying for permanent residence under these pilots might be eligible to get a work permit during the processing period of the application. However, he or she should have an offer letter from the designated employer and a referral letter from the participating community. The fee to apply for both programs starts at $1,525.
